MH V HPS Floodlights

I've managed to 'acquire' some big old floodlights with 400W MH bulbs in them. Does anybody know if I can just change the bulbs for HPS and they will still work?
The brand names are Thorn and Deluce.

I wouldn't - the results could be quite dramatic. Each bulb ignites at a different potential. I've seen some supposedly interchangeable HPS bulbs that have an additional igniter circuit, but I seriously doubt the longevity of such a product due to the very high heat.
