    One last post and also a word of caution about my approach to constant voltage PSUs.

    Contrary to most electronic devices, LEDs (and most diodes, as a matter of fact) have a tendency to blow dead short instead of busting open circuit like other electronic devices.

    So, in a constant voltage configuration, in the event of a LED burning short, the headroom voltage would raise and accordingly the whole string current would raise ( no, the current limiting resistor won't adapt to that). Given that, probably all of the LEDs in the same string would follow in death quite shortly.

    That is the only drawback I can see. But then again, I prefer that to another complicated constant current source circuit "Made in China" that could give-up anytime soon.
