im new just got a 32"x32"x5' tent would cfl work if so how many 23w should start out with

Hi lovebud. Welcome.
You can get away with 3 or 4 for veg. You'll need quite a few more for flowering. My first cfl grow had 4 X 23W and a big 125W as well.
You can grow with less but your buds are likely to be light and fluffy.
If you can only manage a few make sure you get them up close and train the plant so that you can get as many growing tips as close to the bulbs as possible.
Even light an fluffy bud is better than no bud.
