  • Question regarding editing and posting rules

    Hi peeps!

So I am about to start a whole new project and thought it would be a good idea to document it. I am a writer by profession and not only does it come naturally to me, it helps me to organize my own thoughts, have a constant status report for myself, a point I can turn to anytime I am stuck or a bit lost. At the same time, I might get some feedback and ideas from the community that help me on my path to growers perfection.
And last but not least, it would be of great benefit for others. My approach is high end, but all DIY and the amount of information that would be contained in this journal deluxe would certainly help and inspire others.

Good idea you say? Indeed, so thought I... And I thought I do it, where my research has taken me, @rollitup.org. A forum like many other, with some really helpful people and some advanced LED geeks there, who turned me on to some ideas. Today, I sat down and started my multi-thread journal, a holistically linked accumulation of threads in difference sections of the forum, threads all detailing individual parts of the project, in the correct location, but all interlinked and interwoven, with links back and forth, references to each other and a central hub and general blog/journal thread where i would do the overall data, info and link collection.

    Quick Project Plans Overview
    • Mirrored Dual Chamber Grow
    • Fogponic System
    • Fully Automated & Remotely Controlled
    • Automated Mix, Feeding & Cleansing System
    • High Power COB DIY LED Grow Lights
    • Connoisseur Strain Choices
    • Mother Room & Clone Chamber Set-Up
    • Perpetual Mother Preservation Project
    • Super Trimming, SCROGing, Plant Manipulation, Grow Room Music, UVB supplements, Ladybug Home Grow, Artificial Sunrise/Sunset (Far Red Spectrum Initiators), CO² Injections, Altrnative Temperature Control, Sensory Data Collections, Connoisseur Post Harvest Treatment & Fermentation, 4K Bud Porn, Vlogs & Videos, and probably much more...
So that was the plan... and I started hammering away on my keyboard, starting a couple of the threads, until a more senior member of the forum pointed out to me that there is a time limit on how long you can edit your post and after 12 hours, all is set in virtual stone. Which of course is a bit problematic, considering the idea of the journal. You might say, I could just do a blog somewhere and you are right, but that would not be as beneficial for others and there feedback, input and inspiration you find in forums would be missed. So I am out and about, trying to find a growing forum, where I can post, edit without limits or limitation, reserve a few posts in a thread, etc. Could this be the forum I am looking for, or is this too a zone of limited edit-ability?

TL;TR can you edit posts in this forum, is there a time limit? [Edit test]

Hi Simon. This sounds great and like something that would be beneficial to our members.
Wasn't sure about the time limit, but I just went and edited a post I made 12 days ago with no problem so i think it must be OK. Hope this wasn't just because I'm a moderator.
Will pass this on to our tech guys to double check. If any of our members wants to try editing an old post to help Simon out in the meantime that would be great.
