  • In need of help with my first grow..

Hey guys, I just began my first grow and am in need of some major help, so thank you in advance to anyone that can help out here. Much appreciated! As of Thursday night, I started growing 4 plans in a 4x4x7 tent with a 1000w air cooled MH bulb (have HPS for flowering of course). I have an 8" fan cooling the bulb with air from outside of my home. The set-up of my fan and filter is one thing I am unsure of here. I am seeing so many different ways to set stuff up, I don't know if I am being overly paranoid or what, but anyways, this is how I have it set up currently.... window--ducting--fan pulling air from outside and blowing in--ducting--light--ducting--filter..... Should my fan be turned around here, or placed in a different spot in the "chain"?

As far as watering goes, on Friday I watered them still in their plastic trays, split a 12 oz bottle of water between the 4 plants. Last night, I transplanted them into 5 gal Smart Pots and split a half gallon of water with nutrients added (half of the recommended levels to begin with). I also gave the the plants a good mist as well at this time. This is what I'm using for nutrients.. http://www.amazon.co...ics-Flora-Pe...

Inside of the tent I have an oscillating fan and humidifier running 24/7. I'm trying to keep temperatures between 70 and 85 degrees and humidity between 40 and 50% during the veg stage. I have observed temperatures as high as 88 degrees, and as low as 77 degrees late last night, just a couple hours after transplanting. This was with cooling down the room the tent is in with a fan in another window. Humidity has been in the upper 30s to lower 40% range.

Anyways, I've got a bunch of pics here I've taken along the way. I'm highly concerned about nutrient deficiencies and over or under-watering, as well as making sure I have my equipment set up properly.

Hi Robby. Welcome to the forum.
Your set up sounds very good. The air cooling the bulb is correct. Do you also have a fan changing the air in the tent? Or is the air flow sealed into a cool tube type bulb? You need to make sure that all the air in the tent is constantly changing to top up the CO2 levels. An extractor fan with passive flow into the tent is sound. An input fan is even better.
Your plants look OK too. Allow them a little time to recover from the move/transplanting before worrying too much. I see this post is from two days ago. What are the plants like now? Any changes to them (topping/training/repotting etc...) require allowing them to recover for a bit. The transplanting will have stressed them.
