  • Thoughts on DIY LED (will I shut-up someday?)

Oh! Again another piece of caution.

DO NOT TRUST ANY FIGURE IN THE DATA SHEETS BUT FOR OPERATIING CURRENT AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE.

All the voltages are derived from experiments @ operating current. OPERATING CURRENT IS THE ONLY THING TO GO BY.

So, don't ever set your PSU to 3,6V (or any given figure in the data sheet) expecting some potent results. It will not work!

Put an Amp-meter in series with your montage and raise the voltage slowly, monitoring everything as you go. This is the way to go.

And diodes, including LEDs cannot, i mean CANNOT, be put in paralelle. NEVER without a proper polarizing resistor for each diode or string of diodes.

    So long...

No need to shut up roulibre. This is all great stuff and will make excellent reference material for someone. Your probably not getting much response because this is quite specialist knowledge and hard to chat about unless you know what's what. Thanks for your input. It is much appreciated.

Thank's buddy. Much appreciated. You know, us, geeks, are used to feeling a little bit alone in our own world. But keep-on tokin'.

The problem with volts and ampere is that it is not like "a pinch of salt and pepper to your taste". No. They go by strict and severe rules.,
